26 kms away : Avignon : You must  visit the Palais des Papes, Pont St Bénézet (the famous bridge), and enjoy the Avignon festival, which was created by Jean Vilar in 1947. The “IN “and  “OFF “ festivals turn the city of Avignon into a giant stage of the most varied expressions.
